  • Hope in Christ love and Care

V verse 40, Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” When Jesus arrived on the scene the expectation placed on Him was, He could heal the sick and was a miracle man of God. As such everyone was wondering why he did not intercept Lazarus sickness and came too late and now Lazarus is dead for a very long time. Everyone at the funeral had the believe Christ could have healed Lazarus from his sickness. But When Christ arrived, they all felt it was too late because it has not be heard anywhere, of a person been raised from the dead for as long as four days in the grave. Due to how terrible the situation was they are all felt it was a little too late. Martha who happened to be a believer of Christ, even doubted the possibility of Christ been able to raise His brother. Hence, doubted Christ of having the power to raise Lazarus from the grave. Christ intense love and care for Lazarus, the family and all who have gathered in the house. Christ did something which is out of the norm, which is when people doubt Christ, He normally walks away from them because of their unbelieve. But in this instance, instead of walking away, He was firm on Martha who represents the family by rebuking her unbelief which was delaying Lazarus miracle. Christ had to be stern and firm on Martha for her to understand that the blessing of healing, deliverance and restoration from God has no limitation. When it comes to God all things are possible even those, which seem impossible with human might. So, His glory will be reveal to all men, He is the savior of the world and all who trust in Him can and will not be disappointed. And Martha was lacking this understanding, so was all who were gathered making everything they did to impede Christ especially Martha who came up with all the excuses for Christ to not go to the tomb of Lazarus and get the entrance stone door remove. Making the argument there will be a stench. Failing to realize when it comes to the love and care of Christ, there is no stench or foul smell. Christ loves everyone just as they are and how smelly their situation is, Christ still embraces them and does not push them away but is ready to heal and bring victory to their life all in the name of care and love. This is why in the verse above, Christ had to rebuke Martha because her doubt was the stumbling block to her miracle, which was her brother been raised from the dead. Her doubt was failing her because, she could not understand the dept of Christ love and care which causes tand can lead to Him to perform the impossible in a person life. Ultimately revealing the glory of God, which represent His love for every person who trust in Him and His wish that they all do well. If you are facing a situation and feel impossible in human eyes. It is possible in God’s eyes and just hope in Christ and entrust your situation to Him, because He is ever ready to bring healing and deliverance and restoration to you from inside out. So the glory of God will be reveal of how much He cares and is ever ready to help and bring about wholeness and freedom to any person who will not let their circumstance turn them from Christ but will put their trust in Christ. Today trust in Christ and watch and see what He can do for you. And that was exactly what Christ wanted Martha to do instead of doubting, in the same way Christ is visiting every trouble heart of the believer or the one who is not sure and has not trusted Christ to just trust in Him and watch to see what He can do to the situation of the one who have trusted in Him.

  • Hope in Jesus Christ love and Care.

Verse 38 Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance. Verse 39 “Take away the stone,” he said. “But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.” As we analyze the character of Jesus Christ in His friend who has just passed, reveals just how much He loved His friend and care so much about him. And not only that He indicated that greater love is the one who laid them His life for His friends. This means every person who have believed in Jesus Christ is a friend of Christ and a friend that Christ truly cares about, just as He cared about Lazarus death. The verses above reveal the uneasiness Christ was going through when He was at Lazarus house and has been directed to the tomb of Lazarus. The verses signaled how emotional Christ was at the funeral of Lazarus. That He was again deeply moved when He came to the tomb of His dead friend. And the deep move of Christ is an expression of His tremendous love for Lazarus His friend. After reaching the tomb and still in severe sorrow and pain, He commanded the stone in the entrance to be remove. So that the people who doubt his sincere love and care for Lazarus and also His inability to heal Lazarus, will know that with God through Christ everything is possible. The unfortunate thing is Martha, the deceased person sister although believe in Christ and His love for the family was failing to realize that God through Christ was about to show the benefit when He care and loves for a person. She stood as a stumbling block making excuses of why Christ should forget about Lazarus and let Him lay there and with that, the pain will still continue and also the questionability of His love will still be unsettled. Today, do you still feel like Christ does not care for you as a believer. As seen in the scriptures as far as Lazarus was dead Christ kept grieving. As far as you as a believer is suffering, Christ will continue to grieve and be sorrowful because He care tremendous. Don’t put stumbling block and dwell in the sorrow because that will prevent Christ from bringing the healing you deserve. Don’t make excuses and doubt Christ care and help and trust in Him so He can bring the required deliverance. The believer should stop focusing on the magnitude of his or her problems and derail the power and ability of Christ. Mather was focusing on the lengthen of time Lazarus has dead, the odor that will bring shame and discomfort and this was causing her to shift from Christ and failing to see what Christ wanted to do for His friend and brother. Believers equally should not focus on how long they have been addicted, the sickness have prevailed or the financials and relationship failures etc. which has happened in their lives and how often and amount that has happened. And rather focus and put their trust in Jesus Christ their Lord and His ability to make a way where there seems no way.

  • Hope in Christ Care and ability.

Verse 37, But some of them said, “Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?” Most of the time, when the believer is going through their own issues or hardships. There is always so many mix emotions generated through the thoughts or mindset of the believer. There are at times even though the believer believes in the care of the Lord. There could be other thoughts that will come in the believer’s mind where they are not fully convinced God loves them enough to heal them or deliver them from the issues they are going through. And as they entertain these negative thoughts it could grow to a place where they even doubt the ability of God to deliver them. Because if God cares then God who has all power should bring the deliverance. But if God is not bringing the deliverance then It is possible He cares but does not have the ability to deliver in this instance. And when the believer settles in this mindset about God’s ability to bring deliverance it results in the believer walking in a doubtful heart. And when the believer walks in this doubtful heart they are then operating in little faith. A faith that prevents the believer from experiencing the manifestation of God’s promises of protection and provision concerning any issues the believer will experience. Meaning such doubt prevent the believer from experiencing the healing hands of God. A prime example is, if the believer comes to a point to believe that their sickness in which they are believing God for healing and have been believing for a long time and still have received the healing. And doubt God’s care for them to bring healing and walks in this mindset and even comes to a point to believe yes God care but may be cant heal. When the believer doubts that God can heal. This doubt shields the believer from trusting God till the point in which in God’s brings the miracle in His own timing. This is why is very critical not to doubt God and trust in Him. Doubt causes the believer to build a path of to quit on God. The verse above was the mindset of the people who were at the house mourning with Martha and Mary. Most of them were walking in doubt in the ability of Christ to bring healing to Lazarus. This were the same people who identify that Christ truly cared for Lazarus and loved Lazarus dearly. But this same people doubted the ability for Christ to bring healing to Lazarus. Hence though they believe in Christ care, they did not believe or doubted the ability for Christ to have prevented Lazarus from dying. And as such doubted Christ power or what He could do. As the believer hope in Christ care and love, they should not doubt His ability even when things get harder and worse. And keep believing in the power and ability of Christ to make all things well. It will have been pleasant for them to have said this man open the eyes of the blind and with such power can also raise the Lazarus even if he is dead. This will have been the mindset of victory but rather doubted. The believer should be mindful as they walk in the daily love and care of Christ and experience His daily provision and protection power has to learn to trust Christ love and power to resolve all issues regardless of how hopeless and helpless it might seem.

  • Hope in the Genuineness of Christ Care

Verse 36, Then the Jews said, “See how he loved him!” The human heart is so deceptive, that it is so hard to distinguish between genuine and true love or fake care and real care. And many people can prophesize that I love you and can blow the trumpet many times of how much they love a person. But their deeds or action will show otherwise and people who are outside can easily distinguish between when a love shown in care is true or fake. Hence they always say a person can declare how much he or she loves a person and is normal when people do that because everyone wants to claim glory and goodness for themselves. But an unbiased third party witness testimony always proofs to show and proof more of integrity than the person testifying about himself or herself. Because everyone will claim good for themselves but a third party who has nothing to loose when they declare or say something about a person holds more validity then the actual person testimony. That is why in court proceedings they always consider third party witness than only the witness of the individual. As this fact is laid out when we consider the verse 36, the Jews where not Christ friends and only have heard about His miracles and as such have nothing to gain. And not only that, but who most did not even believe in Christ. Hence will expert them to say nothing good about Christ. Even they could not deny the genuine love Christ had for Lazarus the individual that has died. And as they assess Christ and all His behaviors and actions, they came to a conclusion that Christ did not only loved Lazarus, but He truly loved Him indeed and so much and that His love was truly deep. The lesson here is most believers when they encounter hardships and the trials of life in any form or shape become to feel lonely and begins to entertain the notion that God does not love them. If God did why will He allowed them to go through what they are going through. A prime example of individual who have been betrayed by their own Christian brothers or even in a spousal relationship when initially before entering the relationship they committed everything to God. And if God knew this was how it was going to turn out why did He allowed them to go in the relationship the first time. This is not the only example; some suffering believers always deliberate on the genuine of God's love in times of sickness asking the question if God truly loves them, why did God allow this sickness to come on me and why has He still not healed me. And these are many more can create a sense of abandonment by God and feeling of not loved. It was the same, here the people were contemplating why will the Lord allow His friend to died and the pain that this death has generated across tells that the Lord does not care for them. But as much as this could have been the initial stand of thought of the people gathered at the dead man house. They could also not deny the fact that truly Jesus Christ, the Lord truly loved Lazarus and as such care. And this came from a third party source and also people who were already biased and did not believe in Christ so you will not expect them to say anything kind about Christ. But the fruits of care displayed by Christ was such real and authentic that they could not hide the truth but confess that Christ loved Lazarus and still care about Lazarus, and everyone present. In the same way Christ, loves everyone that have believe in Him, at times it might seemed that He does not love the believer, which is what our mind wants us to believe and equally the world or even the enemy wants us to believe. But the believer has to diffuse and disregard that notion and realize in the midst of their difficulties Christ still loves them dearly and also in a deeper, incomprehensible way. So the believer should learn with troubles or without troubles learn to rest in the undeniable love of Christ as confirmed through these scriptures.

  • Finding Hope in the compassion of Christ

verse 34, “Where have you laid him?” he asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they replied. Verse 35, Jesus wept. During this time Christ was already in His friend house and the pain of the loss was unbearable among his family and the town as they have all come to the house to comfort or possible inquire of what was going on. And here comes Christ also with His disciples and been a loving Lord and friend also began to feel the extraordinary uneasiness because of all the sadness that was prevailing in the house. And even though He could go straight and perform a miracle and detached himself from any emotional feeling. He did not do that, but equally went through all the process of pain that comes with losing a love one. And that is what makes Christ unique because He thoroughly identify with all the pain His friends and love ones are going through even those who don’t believe in Him. And because of this nature of Christ He is always in a better position to understand every person who have placed his or her trust in Him and also is able to offer a better remedy for the believer. As identify above, after inquiring of where Lazarus have been laid and the appropriate response has been provided to Him. A response that truly indicates that Lazarus is dead and is not a lie. The one who has trusted in Him and is equally His beloved friend is dead. Christ could no more hold His emotion back but as clearly indicated in the verse 35. That Christ wept in that moment as He finally came to terms His friend is dead. He could not hold back anymore because He truly loved Lazarus and cared so much for Him and as wept to see His friend dead in such a manner and how helpless everyone in the house was feeling as His friend has entered the Land of no return. The cry of Jesus does not only express how much He loved Lazarus but most important how much compassion He equally had for him and his family. Because He could have been coldhearted and just walk away or even laugh about it or also become an onlooker. But that was not the case of Christ, but He showed loved wrapped in extraordinary compassion and as such was not willing to bypass the process of grieving but was ready to also grieve for His friend and go through all the pain associated with loosing someone you love and care. In the same way, regardless of what you might be facing now, whether is loss, hopelessness and helplessness and feel that you are in a dark place. And you feel alone, dejected and feel is over, it is not over Christ feels every inch of your pain and identifies with every pain you might be experiencing just as He demonstrated here with Lazarus and the family and friends. The call is just put and trust in Him that you are not alone. The Lord of creation is just there with you grieving and crying relentless with you to comfort you and prove that He is truly the only one that cares.

  • Finding Hope in the Selfless care of Christ

34 “Where have you laid him?” he asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they replied. When Christ was trouble in the spirit and felt the pain, everyone was going through. He did not just stay there but he did something about it because He choose to do it. Many a time people will sympathize with another person's pain and will just stay there with them and not do anything about it. As indicated even in the verse, the people came to sympathize with the family but did nothing about it. None of them ever ask where have you laid the one who has just lost his life. They came to sympathize but with the look of things, they never bother to ask where the man who has lost his life was laid as such, they came not to truly sympathize but just onlookers busy intruding in other affairs. As clearly indicated in the verse above, when Christ came on the scene, He did not only experience the pain the individuals were going through as evidence of how He was trouble. But He continue to demonstrate how much He cared about the individual who has just lost his life, and everyone present by making further inquiry of where the individual was laid. So that He can truly put His feet in the shoes of all those present especially the family and even the one who has been dead. So that He can truly sympathize with all the pain they were going through from all the different perspective. As such from been trouble in spirit and equally inquiring where He was laid, truly indicated all the necessary painful moments Christ personally allowed Himself to go through all because He had such tremendous love and care for not only Lazarus who has just died but also the family and everyone present. Christ could have chosen not to be trouble, or even not inquired where this individual was laid, because at this point the individual was dead. But He choose to care as evidence by how trouble He was and wanted to truly experience the pain of the family by taking another step of where they have laid him, to really know he is gone. And all this was to show His selfless care for everyone and most importantly humanity.

  • Finding Hope in Christ care

Are you crying in desperation because of the issues of life. And this could be a loss of a Job and as such your income has dwindle and can meet your rental expenses or even mortgage expenses. And also, are there many mouths to feed, and you don't know where to turn to for help. My kind advise is turn to Jesus Christ the only true person who cares for you. And this truth is found in the John 11:33 as seen below: verse 33, When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. The verse above reflects Jesus Christ arriving at His friend house, who has just passed and witness the tremendous pain his friend's sisters and whole town was going through and how pervasive the pain was in His friend house and the whole town. And as verse declares, when Christ witness this pain, He did not brush it off or ignore the pain the people were going through. But He cared so much for everyone there especially His friend's family that He was deeply move in pain in anguish too and was so disturbed about all that was going on. As is clearly seen, Christ truly loves all who have put their trust in Him and even those who have not put their trust in Him as clearly seen above. Her in the verse was referring to Mary, the sister of the deceased and also in the verse there was also the Jews who were in the scene. All of these individuals were displaying severe pain which was evidence to their actions. And it was such a sincere pain it caught the attention of the Lord Jesus to the point, as a caring Lord and savior he could not escape the equal pain because of His love for the people. There are many people in various status even some been leaders who only focus on themselves and cared less about others. And though they prophesied to care their actions depicts something else. But when it comes to the Lord His care is not only mere words but a care which is very deep within Him. As evidence when Christ was deeply moved in spirit. His spirit was deeply trouble, the true Him was deeply experiencing the pain of the people that openly lead to His action which was a truly trouble individual because He could not stand and watch the people suffer. And this is how much the Lord cares for every person. If today, you are feeling lonely and dejected and even afraid there is a Lord standing right Infront of you that truly cares for all that you are going through in the care and is a deeply personal pain that He is sharing with the believer. Hence the increasing need to trust in Him.
