Finding Hope in the Selfless care of Christ

34 “Where have you laid him?” he asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they replied.

When Christ was trouble in the spirit and felt the pain, everyone was going through. He did not just stay there but he did something about it because He choose to do it. Many a time people will sympathize with another person's pain and will just stay there with them and not do anything about it. As indicated even in the verse, the people came to sympathize with the family but did nothing about it. None of them ever ask where have you laid the one who has just lost his life. They came to sympathize but with the look of things, they never bother to ask where the man who has lost his life was laid as such, they came not to truly sympathize but just onlookers busy intruding in other affairs.

As clearly indicated in the verse above, when Christ came on the scene, He did not only experience the pain the individuals were going through as evidence of how He was trouble. But He continue to demonstrate how much He cared about the individual who has just lost his life, and everyone present by making further inquiry of where the individual was laid. So that He can truly put His feet in the shoes of all those present especially the family and even the one who has been dead. So that He can truly sympathize with all the pain they were going through from all the different perspective.

As such from been trouble in spirit and equally inquiring where He was laid, truly indicated all the necessary painful moments Christ personally allowed Himself to go through all because He had such tremendous love and care for not only Lazarus who has just died but also the family and everyone present.

Christ could have chosen not to be trouble, or even not inquired where this individual was laid, because at this point the individual was dead. But He choose to care as evidence by how trouble He was and wanted to truly experience the pain of the family by taking another step of where they have laid him, to really know he is gone. And all this was to show His selfless care for everyone and most importantly humanity.
