1 Corinthians 15:57
Verse 57, But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Hilda has been a believer for a long time and very active in her church and involved and leads many groups in the church. She is just a pure set of fresh air, when you come across her. One of the higher givers in her church. Recently just built her dream home and had an open house, which was received with great reviews. But the economic hardship that most businesses are going through affected the company she works for, and the company has been bought out by a rival. Because of this, she was let go and it’s been months and she still hasn’t found a job. Eventually she had to vacate her newly built house through foreclosure. And had to downside to renting with her family and this has been the hot topic in church and among her family and friends and the shame is so unbearable. To make things worse, her mother-in-law who has been living with them for a long time has fallen sick and she as usual is managing the circumstances.
The most unfortunate situation is she also is going through a trial medical procedure to help deal with her recent medical diagnosis. All of these have set in place a lot of mental, emotional and physical pressures in her life which have become unbearable. Her niece who she has taken ownership as her own daughter is having some difficulties in her final year in college and having a hard time passing a particular class critical to her graduation.
As she contemplates all of these that are happening to her, she decided to go deeper into her faith and found the verse above. She took the verse and applied it to her life and as things kept getting worse, the more she used this verse as a prayer line or stand in her life. And after a long haul of issues upon issues, situation began to turn around as she was able to find a comparable job with a similar salary enabling her and the family to once again buy another property decent enough and within their budget. She is still managing her mother-in-law situation. But her experimental procedure is working now, and her disease is entering the remission state. As her niece is also managing to stick it out to finish and finish well. As she contemplates about her life, she realizes of the truth how the Lord word stand true and that in Christ Jesus there is true victory.
This is what the verse above represents the believer has to know in the Lord Jesus Christ, the believer has victory in every area of his or her life. Whether is relationship, health, or struggling with faith or walking in any form of weakness. The Father through the Lord Jesus Christ has given the believer complete victory over the world and what the world presents to the believer. The only thing is thanking God and have a grateful heart to the Lord and keeping trusting the word of God in Jesus Christ.
Today, if you as a believer is struggling learn to trust the Lord with a grateful heart knowing that victory is already accomplished and establish and guaranteed in the Lord.
