Psalm 46:1
Verse 1, God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Jane has had a very difficult year; she started the year with a terrible diagnosis and has been in and out of the hospital and this has caused her to miss a lot of workdays. And eventually she had to quit her Job to take care of herself. This has presented a lot of financial struggles for her family. They had to downside, because of foreclosure of their dream house. Her grandson who is living with her as her daughter serves in the military has decided to abandon her first year of college and is at home and basically doing nothing all day. As she contemplates all of these situations in her life, she is at this point worn out and has given up entirely on any good that could ever come her way.
As usual she attended one of her regular Sunday services and the pastor made reference of the verse above. She walked out of the service with this verse in her heart and decided to hold unto this verse and trust God for a miracle. And when she thought she has seen the worse in her life then come another unfortunate news been her husband was laid off from the only job sustaining the family, sinking the family financially increasing their woes.
But as a family they decided to hold unto God by putting their trust completely in the Lord. And made the Lord their trust and strengthen. And Jane in particular relied completely on God as she battled with her illness. And also trusting the Lord to touch and change her grandson heart before her daughter returns from services.
As she kept praying and holding on to the Lord to bring her out of her struggles and the family in general. Things got so worse they did not know where the next meal was going to come. In the midst of these struggles an experimental procedure was introduced to her. And Jane decided to try it, initially it was very hard on her body but after almost six months in the program her health condition turn around suddenly for the better to the surprise of her medical team that was treating her. And after a month in remission, she began to search for a Job and to her surprise her previous company called her if she was still available for work and when she said yes, they decided to double her pay.
As the second semester of the first year started to her surprise her grandson came to her and decided to go back to college but one nearby. She worked with him to secure admission in their local community college, which he decided to attend and has been punctual and steady since his first day of school. Her husband is still looking for a job and has some good leads.
As she contemplates about the turnaround, she gave credit to her trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and her prayers to Him when she decided to turn all her concerns to the Lord. And at one of the Sunday school services, she gave a testimony of how she and the family held unto the Lord in their difficult times and how the Lord kept them together in peace and harmony till eventually He turned things around for their good.
