Psalm 55: 16th through 17
verse 16, As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Verse 17 Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.
Iris has been out of work for almost a year but has managed to keep it up to herself without letting her family and friends know about her situation. She has managed her finances well and been able to meet her routine expenses. But recently she has also been struggling with her health, and it has made life very uneasy and complicated, as with the temporary jobs she had, she cannot even perform those duties and as such be paid. She anticipates based on her current financial situation she cannot afford the next rent after paying the immediate rent. And this will cause her to be evicted and lead to the possibility of homelessness. Been hesitant and not wanting to let people know her business but knowing how critical her situation is now. She reached out to her best friend for help, this is an individual who has basically lived with her in her house. She explained all her situation to her and to her surprise as much as her friend was sympathetic and listened to her situation. The friend could not help her and indicated she is tied up with so many financial obligations. She again decided to reach out to her family, and they were really sympathized with her but equally could not help her at that point.
Knowing what is about to happen to her, she decided to seek the Lord help in her situation. Committed her situation to the Lord. And during a routine visit from the Landlord and the landlord inquiring how she was doing. She realized the opening opportunity to let him know about her situation and to her surprise the landlord decided to give her a pass and indicated she should just pay what she can, and she shouldn’t worry till she had the money. And this was a landlord who had already evicted some residents just recently for falling behind on their rent and for him to be so generous to her was awesome. As Iris sat and was pondering about what had just happened, a drop of remembrance came to her mind and she recalled how she had prayed that morning and had ask God for favor and grace as she discuss her situation with the landlord and that God should grant her victory, since she has no help from anyone.
So, when the landlord shows such understanding to her situation and also granted her such leniency, she knew it was the doing of the Lord and the Lord had heard her cry, when everyone had rejected to help her when she needed the help most.
